In 2011 KASBAH decided to set a new standard for accommodation to meet the aspirations and needs of young adults ideally aged 18-35 with moderate learning disabilities, with the potential to achieve some level of independence.
Our supported living project at Rochester Road in Gravesend is a large detached suburban house over three floors, located in a popular residential area, close to local amenities and with excellent transport links. The house provides a warm and welcoming communal home for four people who can provide each other with mutual support and companionship when needed and yet at the same time live as independently as they wish to. As well as four large bedrooms the house also has a lounge/diner, two bathrooms, kitchen, games room and a large garden with outdoor seating.
Our staff are on hand 24 hours a day to ensure our residents are kept safe and healthy, whilst supporting them with daily tasks such as meal planning, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, managing money, travel as well as developing social skills, relationships, accessing the community and work experience.
Please note that Rochester Road is not a care home, residents are supported to make decisions and carry out tasks for themselves. Residents can live at Rochester Road for the mid to long term. Respite is also offered, subject to availability.
